Raymond John McLoughlin
July 26, 1930 - January 6, 2019

Raymond J. "Ray" McLoughlin, 88, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Memorial services will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 10th at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy, officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in the Newark Township Cemetery, near Vincent. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a K. of C. Rosary at 7:00 PM all at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Ray is survived by his wife, Joan McLoughlin of Fort Dodge; children, Debra McLoughlin of Mesa, AZ, Cheryl Ritenour (Rick) of Vincent, John McLoughlin of Fort Dodge, Therese Sittig (John) of Owatonna, MN, and Brian McLoughlin (Marie) of Fort Dodge; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Steinmaus of Reno, NV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary (Bemrich) McLoughlin; brothers, Leo, Vincent, Don, and Joe McLoughlin; sisters, Marcella Blanchet and Betty Ward; and daughter-in-law, Stacy Miller McLoughlin.
Raymond John McLoughlin was born July 26, 1930 in Barnum. He was raised in Barnum until he was teenager when the family moved to Vincent. Ray graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1947. On August 9, 1952 he was united in marriage to Joan Shaw. The couple established their home in Vincent. Ray farmed from 1952 to 1960. He then worked for the Vincent Grain Elevator for 32 years until retiring in 1992. He served on the board for the Vincent Fire Department and the Vincent Hall. In his spare time, he coached Little League. For 20 years, Ray and Joan enjoyed their winters in Arizona. In 2001, the couple moved to Fort Dodge. Ray was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan.
Memorials may be left to family discretion.
