Anthony L. Romano
May 3, 1936 - January 9, 2019

Anthony L. Romano, age 82, of Barnegat passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin. Born in Mamaroneck, NY, he lived in North Brunswick for 36 years before moving to Barnegat eighteen years ago.

Mr. Romano was a Superintendant and Vice President at Napp-Greco, Newark, for sixty years before retiring in 2015. A horse racing enthusiast, he enjoyed many racetracks, but was especially fond of Saratoga. For many years, he owned Standard bred horses, including TW Troubles, RU Trouble, Popular Arrival, Winning Hitter, and Kash Cordial.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nicol and Carmella Romano, his grandson, Anthony M. Romano, and his siblings, Theresa Pannorfi and Philip and Nicholas Romano. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elsie; his children, Anthony Jr. and his wife Margaret of Millstone, Bill and his wife, Donna of Naples, FL, Bob and his wife Pam of Manchester, Linda Cassidy and her husband Tom of Spotswood, and Lauren Romano of Little Egg Harbor; his grandchildren, Nick Romano and his wife Tara, Anthony's wife, Mina Romano; Robert Romano and his wife Courtney, Thomas Cassidy and his wife Audrey, Jackie Cassidy, Eric Cassidy, Daniella Boyer and Alyssa Boyer; his great-granddaughters, Adelaide and Antonia; and his sister, Mary Galletto of Bound Brook.

Cremation was private under the direction of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River.
