In loving memory of

Karen Lee Ladd
January 9, 1959 - January 10, 2019

Today we celebrate the life of our dearly beloved Karen Lee Ladd. She was born in Brunswick, Georgia and grew up in the Carolinas. Karen wanted to make sure you all knew she went out stubborn, calling all the shots right up until the very end. Her determination to fight through her cancer diagnosis and live life to the fullest made her a role model to all who knew her.

She marched to the beat of her own drum for sixty bright years, enjoying her family and friends dearly and opening her heart and home to those around her. A southern firecracker with an explosive (yet endearing) personality, she leaves behind a loving soulmate Kevin Young of Davie FL, a sister Debbie (Curt) Koller of Rock Hill, SC; brother John (Linda) Ladd of Delaware; a son JD (Monica) of Minneapolis, MN.; three adoring grandchildren, and cousins Joanne, Brian, Brianna, and Weston McKnight.

"I will. Never forget the evening we spent with Karen & Kevin when she requested Pastor Darrell Renee her baptism at home. It was so precious it took so much restraint not to ask to be done also but I didn?t want to take that precious moment from Karen. We sang her favorite. Hymns and later that evening we sang our favorite songs some that Kevin wrote . It was like old times when we use to get together yet sacred because we knew the struggle Karen was facing but not solemn because Karen was so strong and she kept that strength until the very end. Pastor Darrell shared what they both were going through and he was doing so well little did we know that he would lose his fight a short time after that evening . But even that didn?t discourage Karen she was determined to get through her bucket list and make it to her birthday which she did . I have never seen a woman so strong and determined to beat this terrible disease I almost thought she would have beaten it but she put up a good fight. I know you are not resting in peace Karen you are probably getting God on a new schedule or organizing something . Until we meet again we will miss you Stay strong you gave it a good fight Love Marilyn & Richie ???"
