Sharon Lee Rockwell Derganz
July 1, 1954 - January 20, 2019

Sharon Lee Rockwell Derganz, 64, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, January 20, 2019, at her home in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Community of Christ Church in Maquoketa. A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at the Sutton Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, at a later date.

Sharon Lee Rockwell was born on July 1, 1954 in Ft. Riley, Kansas, to Donald Alyn and Wanda Lee (Garretson) Rockwell. She was a 1972 graduate of Andrew High School and then attended and graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Earth Science.

Sharon had lived in Texas for ten years and had worked for Century Geophysical Corporation as a mineral logger from 1977 to 1982. She then returned home to Iowa where she married Kenneth Derganz and became a farmwife and mother.

Sharon was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Maquoketa. She enjoyed horses, geology, archaeology, reading and study.

Sharon is survived by her parents, Don and Wanda Rockwell of Maquoketa, IA; her husband Kenneth Derganz of Maquoketa, IA; children, Dustin Derganz and Agatha "Aggie" Derganz; a grandchild, Mikaela Derganz; and brothers, Donald Wayne Rockwell of Maquoketa, IA, and Warren Glenn Rockwell of Maquoketa, IA. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Kenneth and Winona Garretson, paternal grandparents Glenn and Geraldine Rockwell, and a sister Lynne Ann Rockwell.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Sharon Derganz memorial fund has been established.
