Eleanor J. McCarthy, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Villa Cottages.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 1:30 PM at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Patrick Behm, officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughters, Deb (Tim) Fuller of Fort Dodge; Pam (Ron) Markley of Badger; Bonnie (Dave) Nelson of Fort Myers, FL; and her son, Brian (Karla) McCarthy of Fort Dodge; and 6 grandchildren, Luke Fuller, Courtney (Jason) Christensen, Landon McCarthy, Elle McCarthy, Cameron Hicks and Taylor Christian; and great grandson, Lex Christensen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix in 2004; son, Gerald McCarthy; brother, Tom Condon; and parents, Vincent and Catherine (Coughlon) Condon.
Eleanor Josephine Condon was born on March 14, 1934 in Sioux City, IA. She was educated in Manson and graduated from Manson High School. On August 17, 1953 she was united in marriage to Felix R. McCarthy at St. Patrick's Church on the Lizard near Clare. Felix and Eleanor lived 1 year in Texas, otherwise they lived their entire married life in the Fort Dodge Community. Eleanor was a member of Corpus Christi Church and Holy Trinity Parish. She enjoyed dancing, golfing, but especially loved to be with her family.
