Garry L. Snook
Canton- Garry L. Snook, 75, of Canton, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at Unity Point Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
He was born on April 30, 1943, in Marrietta, to Carl and Macie (Brush) Snook.
He married Lynne (Hartwig), on January 1, 1991, in Peoria.
He is survived by his wife, four children, Shawn Snook, of Peoria, Jason Snook, of Canton, Brett (Christine) Heintz, of North Carolina, and Marnie (Ryan) Harris, of Dunlap, five grandchildren, Dakota and Hannah Snook, Camryn Snook, Harper and Paige Harris, and two great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Aishur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one step brother.
Garry graduated from Canton High School and served in the United States Army. He worked at Canton Community Bank for several years before joining the transportation industry. During the majority of his years in the transportation business he worked as a dispatcher and operations manager for Tobler Transfer and Jolliff Transportation. He later retired from Brubaker Transfer in Goodfield, where he was a partner. During his retirement he spent many enjoyable years at his home at Canton Lake.
Memorials may be made to the Peoria Pediatric Resource Center, 320 Armstrong Peoria, IL 61603, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. Per his wishes there will be no public services.
