A memorial service for Maxine will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Algona with visitation 1 hour prior.
Maxine Mary Huff was born on June 15, 1930 in Centerville, IA. She was the youngest daughter of John and Edith (Prochaska) Stratton. She moved with her family to Algona in 1936. She grew up in Algona and graduated from Algona High School in 1949.
Maxine was united in marriage to Clarence Earl Huff on October 29, 1949 in Garner, IA. Together they raised their family in Algona. Maxine wrote articles for the newspaper under Dear Ann before going to work at Trinity Lutheran Church as the church secretary for 39 years before retiring. Maxine enjoyed reading, playing the piano, gardening and spending time with her family.
Maxine is survived by her 3 children, Michael (Jodie) Huff of Algona, Barry (Patricia) Huff of Basehor, KS and Bryan (Melody) Huff of Ankeny; four grandchildren, Casey Huff (fiancée Tessie Kemp), Max Huff, Abby Huff, Megan (Ben) Immel, and Mindy Walters; and three great-grandchild, Kylee Walters, Logan Walters, and Lillian Immel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, John and Edith; brothers, Frank and Max.
