In loving memory of

Corine Adams
December 12, 1920 - February 4, 2019

Corine Eyette Adams was born in Columbia, Louisiana on December 12, 1920. In the 1940s Corine, her mother Dena Mae, and her son Percy Sr., moved to Seattle, which was her permanent home for over 60 years. Corine was well traveled and lived in several places: such as Arizona and Alaska just to name a few. She made beautiful jewelry and was a domestic worker for a wonderful family whom she discussed often.

Corine accepted her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was a long standing member of First AME Church. Her favorite thing to do was to be around family and friends. Corine loved collecting bells and doves. Corine and her son were famous for their cooking. She would cook up a feast for her favorite holiday; Thanksgiving. Her door was always open to anyone. She was always welcoming. Corine cooked Thanksgiving dinner until the age of 84, upon which she handed her responsibilities over to her granddaughter Renee'. Corine shot from the hip, she never held her tongue, we might not have liked what she had to say, but, we always knew it came from love.

Corine passed away on February 4, 2019. She was 98 years old at the time of her death. She lived a happy and fulfilled life. She often told her family she had very few regrets.

Corine was preceded in death by her mother Dena Mae Darris, step-father Claude (Claudee) Darris, son Percy Williams Sr., sister Charlie Neal-Newman, niece Stella Marie Washington, brother Jimmie Carter, great-nephew Jessie Tass Washington, Carlos Dennis and granddaughter and name-sake Corine Eyette Washington.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory 5 grandchildren Percy Williams Jr., Jimmy Williams Sr., Renee', Tracey Williams and Neena Banks. Together with their spouses G G Williams, Anita Williams, and Anthony Allen.

Her 14 great grandchildren will keep the memory of her always: Porchia, Paige, Percy III, Junika, Jimmy Jr., Joseph, Danielle, Katherine, Elton Jr., C'Ajah, Craig Jr., Gerald, Im'unique', and Nathan.

She also leaves behind 6 great-great-grandchildren Persia, Calvin Jr., Juniyah, Saniyah, Carter, Fatiyah, and her nephew Robert.

Her grandchildren would like to give a heartfelt thank-you to our cousins Robert Neal, Carlos and Tony Dennis, and Gregory Washington for taking great care of Big Mama/Auntie during her later years in life after the passing of her sister and son. She loved you all very much and was extremely happy to spend time with each of you.

Death is only a horizon, and the horizon is the limit of our sight; nothing more.
