Marjorie Ruth (Lewellen) Graham was born at home in Winterset, Iowa on December 8, 1933. Her parents were Floyd Milton and Caroline "Carrie" Priscilla (Douglas) Lewellen.

Marjorie's family moved to Carson, Iowa when she was in 6th grade. After high school, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska to attend the Commercial Extension School of Business. She worked as a live-in nanny during this time. Marjorie rode the street car from 36th Street and Dodge to the school. She took a job with Walgreen Drug in their district offices. Later, she worked for Radio Equipment Company as a bookkeeper.

Marjorie loved to polka - her family noticed that they couldn't visit a small town in the area without her commenting that she'd gone to a dance there once! A young man, Norman Graham, called one day to see if she'd like to go to a square dance. It was their start together with the Rural Youth Group, a group of friends still together today.

Marjorie and Norman were married at the Carson United Methodist Church on March 20, 1960. When daughter, Laurie, joined them in January of 1961, they moved to the farm near Silver City, Iowa. Son, David, was welcomed in December of 1962. Marjorie learned how to be a farm wife over the years - she had a huge garden, orchard, learned to can and freeze, how to drive a tractor, and dress chickens. Her mother, Carrie, came to the farm and taught her to make pies, side by side. She also crocheted, sewed, and embroidered.

Marjorie and Norman spent many hours watching their children's activities. Marjorie was a 4-H leader, a member of the UMW, and helped lead youth and adult choirs. Marjorie played the piano for church services in Silver City and Carson for over 50 years. She decided that when she turned 80, that was enough!

Marjorie did taxes and estate work. They moved to Carson before she retired. During retirement, Marjorie's favorite activities were playing bridge, traveling, sharing life with Norman, and being with grandchildren. Granddaughters, Claire and Brenna Schulte, and grandsons, Nathan, Jordan, and Landon Graham were the joy of her life! Nothing was better than sitting in the stands for one of their games, concerts, or other activities.

Marjorie passed away at their Carson home on February 18, 2019 at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 10 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, infant Robert Douglas; Jack William (age 3), and Robert Milton. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Norman of Carson; daughter Laurie (Steve) Schulte of Auburn, NE; son David (Sue) Graham of Grundy Center, IA; five grandchildren; brother Clair and his wife Wally Lewellen of Phoenix, AZ; sisters-in-law, Barb Lewellen of Omaha, NE, and Marjorie Roberson of Lincoln, NE; and dear nieces, nephews; other family; and friends.
