In loving memory of

Frank Gutschenritter
February 3, 1935 - February 19, 2019

Franklin Joseph Gutschenritter was born in Page County, Iowa on February 3, 1935 to William and Vergie (Pritchard) Gutschenritter. He entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2019 at his home in rural Imogene.

He attended Sentinel Country School before graduating from Shenandoah High School in 1953. After graduation he began his life long career in farming. This was interrupted by service to his country. Frank was drafted into the United States Army in March 1958. Served two years active duty, 18 months in Augsburg, Germany. This followed by three years in the Army Standby Reserves. He was honorably discharged in 1963.

Frank was united in marriage to his best friend Carol Ann Maher 58 years ago on July 11, 1960 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Imogene, Iowa. They were blessed with four great children: Tony, Lisa, Trent and Joe.

Frank was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church having served on the Pastoral Council. He completed a three year Farm Management Program through Iowa Western Community College, sponsored by Veterans Administration under the G.I. Bill. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Enjoyed all of his grandchildren's activities and sporting events. Spent time reading farm related magazines. Going on "farm tours" and "checking crops" were also his favorite times. Visiting with family and friends were most important to him. He considered himself "the luckiest man alive" because he had the privilege of spending his entire life doing what he loved - farming. It was his job, his hobby, his pastime and his life. A man who lived with "no complaints and no regrets."

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Leo, Delmus and wife Pat, Carroll and infant brother and sister Geraldine Morelock and husband Glen.

Those left to cherish his memory include is wife Carol Ann, children: Tony (Roxanne), Lisa (Scott) Fisher, Trent (Tina), and Joe (Amy), ten grandchildren: Colton & Gracie Fisher, Katie, Steve, Sydney, Sara, Brady, Jane, Natalie and Adrian Gutschenritter, two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Declan, sister-in-law Darene Gutschenritter, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Imogene. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to The Sons and Daughters of Imogene or The St. Patrick Heritage Garden.
