Melinda Franke, age 21, passed away on February 17, 2019. A private celebration of Melinda's life and memory will take place at Cress Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Melinda was a precious daughter to Michael Franke and Jacquelyn Haines, a kindred spirit to her sister Kally, and held a special place in the hearts of step-father Toby Haines, grandparents Sharlet and Kenneth LaBarbera, and many dear relatives and friends. Melinda was loved deeply and will be missed dearly.

"Armed with a net, a small plastic container, and a spirit of wonder for all sorts of critters Melinda was a free spirit. During our 4th of July parties we would hunt around the pond for crawdads, frogs, or anything else that could crawl, fly, or swim. The thrill of the hunt as we crept up on our quarry, tiptoeing into striking distance. The look of joy on her face whenever we would snag something in the net. The sense of pride at showing off the catch to the rest of the family, if they weren't too squeamish. Those hot summer days are my fondest memories spending time with my niece. -Uncle Jeff "
