Victor E. Serafin
August 10, 1956 - February 25, 2019

Victor E. "Eddie" Serafin, age 62, of the Holiday City Carefree section of Berkeley Township died suddenly on Monday, February 25, 2019 at home. Born in Kearny, he lived in East Newark before moving Holiday City in 2013.

Mr. Serafin was a Councilman in East Newark for many years. Prior to retiring, he was an Operator for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission for over 25 years. He was also a chef, and worked as the Food and Beverage Director for Holiday Inn, Livingston, for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; his sister, Diane Fazio and her husband Don of Toms River; a niece, Kristen Shaw of Toms River; two brothers-in-law, Charles McLaughlin and his wife LouAnn of Manahawkin and Kenneth McLaughlin and his wife Pat of Conway, SC; his sister-in-law, Diana McLaughlin; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Cremation was private under the direction of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A memorial gathering and service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 10am-12noon at the funeral home.
