April 19, 1996 - February 20, 2019

Destanny Blaine Smith-Downs, 22, of Callender died Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Salvation Army located at 126 North 7th Street in Fort Dodge.
Survivors include her husband, Deacon Smith-Downs of Callender; her son, Bentley and her daughter, Anna; father, Leroy Flowers of Burnside; mother, Leslie Flowers; brothers, Dan (Tara) Flowers and their daughter, Haylee of Barnum; and Jon (fiancé Shandra Renya) Flowers their children, Khendrick, Cameron, Kolten, and Chance; mother and father-in-law, Dawn Smith and Dave Downs of Boone.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Donna McCloud.
Destanny Flowers was born on April 16, 1996 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools in Prairie Valley and later graduated from high school in Fort Dodge. Following her education, she worked for the Subway in Wal-Mart till it closed. Destanny then went to work for IA Select Farms on the Day 1 Shift. When her son Bentley was born, she was a stay at home mom. She was a very caring person and was full of life. Together with her husband the couple started D and D Lending Hands - they would help clean up trash, appliances, etc. around the city.
Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
