In loving memory of

Donald "Donnie" W. Bice
July 21, 1953 - February 25, 2019

Donald "Donnie" Wayne Bice, son of Raymond and Elda Mae (Shipman) Bice, was born on July 21, 1953 in Magnolia, Iowa. He passed away on February 25, 2019 at the Westridge Quality Care and Rehabilitation in Clarinda, Iowa at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 4 days.

Donnie was a very loving and devoted son to his mother Elda. He called her every morning and visited almost daily. He made sure she had everything she needed and a lot of flowers. After she passed away he made sure she had beautiful flowers at her graveside for all of the holidays, seasons, Mother's Day and Birthday's. When Donnie was unable to go to the cemetery he would insist Sandy take pictures so he could see what the arrangements looked like and of course to give his approval.

Donnie had a green thumb. If you had a plant that wasn't doing well he would bring it back to life for you. At one time his room looked like a greenhouse. He was always sending Rhonda to the store for more flower pots and potting soil. Oh what a mess he could make.

Donnie had a dream to someday be able to return to an apartment. So he bought a lot of cooking magazines and cut out a lot of recipes he wanted to try. As we all know he enjoyed his meals, cinnamon rolls, snacks and candy.

He loved watching the judge shows on TV and putting puzzles together. He enjoyed the staff helping him. The puzzles he really liked he would have Sonia laminate and housekeeping would arrange things on his wall for one more.

Donnie had a great sense of humor and loved joking with the staff. When he was in the hospital he let everyone know he wanted to be at Westridge. That was his home with family and friends. He will be remembered for his joking, plants and how he enjoyed winning at BINGO.

Donnie loved the Lord. He had a collection of religious pictures and crosses. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

During his recent illness he would remind Sandy it will be okay and I'm ready to meet Jesus and be with my mom. The tee shirt he will be buried in was one of his favorites it says:
"Jesus Loves You ~ But I'm His Favorite." Whatever your part was in Donnie's life he appreciated what you did. He left us with a lot of good memories and will be greatly missed.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenny Bice. He is survived by his sister Judy Brennestall of Council Bluffs and many other relative.

Left to cherish his memory is his Westridge family and friends. His adopted family who loved him and cared for him include; Mike and Sandy Alexander of Blanchard, Barry and Rhonda Byers and daughter Ainsley of Essex, Brandon and Kendra Hallam and children Kenzlee, Cameron and Bradley of Shenandoah, Ashley Byers and Cameron Walker of Orient, Eric and Kim Doyle of Farragut, Felisha Fine and Jesus Navarrete of Council Bluffs, Mike Pickens, Shannah Alexander and Brooklyn of Villisca and Mike and Melissa Brown and children William and Sueanna of Shenandoah.

Celebration of life funeral service will be held 2:30 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Burial to follow at the Clarinda Cemetery in Clarinda, Iowa.
