Dennis Henricks
January 24, 1949 - February 26, 2019

Dennis Lee Henricks, 70, of Oceanside, California, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at home in Oceanside, California.

He was born January 24, 1949, in Grundy Center, Iowa, to Ronald and Mary (Tuitjer) Henricks. Dennis graduated from Nevada High School in 1968. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1990, where rose in rank from Private to Drill Instructor, and finally to Officer (Mustang). He served two tours in Viet Nam and served during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq. After retiring, Dennis held several positions as a master mechanic in San Marcos, California.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Peggy Brandon Henricks, daughters, Tammy (Henricks) Smith, Clayton, Georgia, and Shelly (Henricks) Backer, Tiger, Georgia and sons, Dennis Henricks, Tiger, Georgia and Daniel Henricks, Clayton, Georgia. Stepdaughter Jessica Bouslag, stepsons, Jason Childs, and Stephen Brandon. Sisters, Carol Eckard of Shawnee, Kansas, Marilyn Rogers, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Dianne Ihle, Grimes, Iowa, and Debra Bartlett, Mesa, Arizona as well as many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Mary Henricks, brother, Galen Henricks and sister, Darlene K. Sunnes and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dennis enjoyed NASCAR racing and working on his many vintage cars with his longtime friend of over 40 years, John Windish.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at the Dumont Cemetery in Dumont, Iowa. A memorial service will be held in Oceanside, California at a later date.
