Samuel Herbert Waterman
February 19, 1940 - February 28, 2019

Samuel Herbert Waterman, 79, of Danville, died Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation, Washington, Iowa.

Mr. Waterman was born February 19, 1940 in Stronghurst, Illinois, the son of Clemens Ferdinand "Tim" and Olive Juanita Kissick Waterman. On June 12, 1960 he married Wanda Marie Getchell in Burlington. She died March 3, 1987. He was a high school graduate in Media, Illinois and a member of the Danville Baptist Church. He worked at Burlington Tent and Awning, IAAP, and retired from GE where he worked on the assembly line in electric supply. He also was a cattle farmer. Mr. Waterman enjoyed raising cattle, building things, and time with his granddaughter and great grandchildren.

He is survived by daughters, Christina (Jim) Consbrock of New London and Melanie Waterman of Quincy; sons, Tony (Nikki) Waterman of West Point and Michael Waterman of Danville; granddaughter, Elissa Waterman; great-grandson, Jerome Martin, Jr., and great-granddaughter, Tajhanae Martin; brothers, William (Ava) of Farmington, LeRoy (Ann) of Stronghurst, and John (Linda) of Springfield, MO; and one sister, Shirley (Dale) Stevenson of New London. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; two brothers, Harold and Melvin; and three sisters, Doris Peterson, Vivian Brill, and Kate Waterman.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 9 at the Danville Baptist Church. Rev. Jack Edmisson will officiate. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated and inurnment will be in Jaggar Cemetery, rural Danville. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 until the time of the service.
