Jewett DeHart
June 9, 1935 - March 22, 2011

Jewett DeHart, of Appleton, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. He was 75 years old. He was born on June 9, 1935 in White Lake, a son of the late John and Sarah (Johnson) DeHart. He married Beverly Smith in Jan. 1957. She preceded him in death in 1973. In April of 1980 he married Delores Steinberg, she survives.

He is a graduate of White Lake High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1962 having been stationed in Texas, France and South Dakota.

He worked as a machinist most of his life beginning at Amron Corp. in Antigo then moved to Zion Illinois where he worked for Johnson Motors. He returned to Antigo and worked at Wilke Windows. In 1978 he moved to Appleton and worked for Appleton Paper. He later was employed by the city of Antigo Park and Recreation Department.

His free time was spent outdoors camping and hunting.

Survivors including his wife Delores are four sons Monty (Debra) DeHart, Antigo, Perrie (Deborah) DeHart, Antigo, Christopher (Elizabeth) DeHart, Oshkosh, Curt (Linda) DeHart, Little Rock, Ark; a daughter Penny DeHart, Green Bay; a step-son Jim Steinberg, Appleton; a step-daughter Pam (Randy) Coenen, Appleton; seven sisters Audrey (Ken) Moats, Greencastle, Pa., Doris DeHart, Antigo, Marjorie Waddell, Mantiwoc, Betty (Richard) Manthy, Salem, Florence (Darrell) Lewis, Argonne, Bertha (Robert) Smith, Two Rivers, Cathy Randel, Antigo; two brothers Gerald DeHart, Two Rivers, John (Charlene) DeHart, Elcho; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-granchildren.

In addition to his first wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Kinnu and a brother George DeHart.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in Bent Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Antigo Veterans will conduct military rites following services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established and may be dropped at the funeral home.
