Hilda A. Meyer, 97, 2130 Harrison, formerly of 2622 Cherry, Quincy, died Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at 7:50pm in Blessing Hospital.

She was born December 19, 1902 in Gilmer Twp., Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Emma Beckman Mittelberg.

On February 8, 1921, she married Albert Meyer in Quincy. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1976.

As a young girl she played the piano for services at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Burton. She was a seamstress with Quincy Specialties until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Evening Ladies Aid.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Blake and her husband William, Naperville, IL; son, Donald Meyer and his wife Mary Lou, Spring Valley, CA; daughter-in-law ,Betty Meyer Stormer, Quincy; 8 grandchildren, Joann Reichert and her husband Richard, Quincy; Gregory Meyer and his wife Joanne, Elgin, IL; Mark Meyer and his wife Elizabeth, Spring Valley, CA; Roxanne Olson and her husband Clif, Papua New Guinea; Charles Meyer and his wife Toni, Spring Valley, CA; Stuart Blake and his wife Tracey, Naperville, IL; Steve Blake, No. Aurora, IL; Susan Blake Dean, Naperville, IL; 14 great grandchildren, Todd Reichert and his wife Tina, Quincy, Tim Reichert and his wife Stacey, Quincy, Katie, Jeff and Allison Meyer, all of Elgin, IL, Lindsay, Hillary and Jessica Blake, all of Naperville, IL, Justin Blake, North Aurora, IL, Allison, Jake and Megan Meyer, Spring Valley, CA, Yvonne and Paula Olson, all of Papua New Guinea, 2 great great grandchildren, Jarod and Kelsey Reichert, both of Quincy, 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Mittelberg, Quincy; Florence Cordes, Quincy; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Harold Meyer, 3 sisters Mildred and Margaret in infancy and Myra Davis, two bothers, Lewis and Arnold Mittelberg.

Funeral Services will be 1pm Friday, February 11, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Larry Troxel officiating. Burial in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois .

The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Thursday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
