Roger Ray Hannant, 60, 2800 Kingsridge, Quincy, died Friday, February 18, 2000 at 8:40pm in his home.

He was born December 7, 1939 in Perry, Illinois the son of Owen and Mary Denny Hannant.

He married Chris Lipcaman in 1959. On October 5,1994, he married Mary Smith in Quincy. She survives.

He was a 1957 Perry High School graduate. He was a graduate of Western Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in 1963 and later received Master and Specialist Degrees. He was a principal, teacher and coach for 20 years in Perry Community School, Perry, IL; he was principal and teacher at East Pike Elementary School in Milton,IL, and he taught at Pikeland Middle School in Pittsfield, IL.

Survivors in addition to his wife are 2 sons, Douglas Hannant, New York, NY; Kevin Hannant and his wife Julie, Winston-Salem, NC; 3 grandchildren, Alexandra, Arielle and Alivia Hannant, Winston-Salem, NC; 1 step grandchild, Jacob Smith, Quincy, IL; 2 sisters, Susan Johnson and her husband James, New Salem, IL; Nancy Robinson and her husband Richard, Green Valley, IL; 1 brother, Clark Hannant and his wife Dawn, Jacksonville, IL.

His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral Services were held 11 am Monday, February 21, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial in McCord Cemetery, Perry,Illinois.
