Arthur Robert Bornman

Arthur Robert Bornman, 77, 515 So.17th, Quincy, died Friday, March 24, 2000 at 10am in his home.

He was born February 3, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Leonard Robert and Helen Schnelle Bornman.

On November 18,1946, he married Dorothy Smith in Palmyra, MO. She survives.

He was a 1941 graduate of Quincy High School, and he served in the 2nd Marine Division of the US Marine Corps in the South Pacific during WWII.

He was employed by Gardner Denver for 35 years as a shop supervisor until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Elks Lodge, American Legion Post #37, Second Marine Division Association, Gardner Denver Quarter Century Club, Herman Lodge #39 A.F. & A. M., Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine, and Quincy Shrine Club. He was an avid golfer and bowler.

Survivors in addition to his wife are a stepson, Dennis Morrall and his wife Sharon, Quincy; stepdaughter, Phyllis Blevins and her husband Ron, Boca Raton, FL; daughter, Cheryl Gille and her husband Jim, Quincy; 9 grandchildren, Brenda Oliver and her husband Jim, Beulah, CO; Bonnie Hogan and her husband John , Palatine, IL;Jeff Blevins and his wife Sue, Rockford, IL; John Blevins, San Francisco, CA; Dana Altman and her husband Tim, Dayton, OH; Tara Morrall, Indianapolis, IN; Glenn, Craig and Jason Gille, Quincy; 6 greatgrandchildren, Brett and Hannah Oliver, Beulah, CO, Johnny and Matthew Hogan, Palatine, IL, and Zachary and Alexandria Blevins, Rockford, IL; a sister, Mildred Kuhlman, Quincy.

He was preceded in death by parents, grandson Brett Nothnagel, and one brother Russell Bornman.

Funeral Services will be 2 pm Monday, March 27, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Leland Uden officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Sunday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice. Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by American Legion Post #37.
