Margaret E. Hibbard, 86, 2130 Harrison, Quincy, formerly of 3610 Mill Creek Valley died Saturday, March 4, 2000 at 6:45 am in the Good Samaritan Home.
She was born November 14, 1913 in Hull, Illinois, the daughter of Otis Lee and Elba Mae Abbott Scott.
On April 4,1936, she married Roger Orson Hibbard. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1971.
She was a 1931 graduate of Seymour High School in Payson. She was employed by W. T. Grant in the drapery department for several years, and she also worked for Jacks.
She was a member of Payson Road Christian Church, a former Sunday School Teacher at Madison Park Christian Church, a Willing Workers Quilter, and a former Brownie Leader. She loved to play bingo, garden and travel.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Bryson and her husband Howard, Quincy; 3 grandchildren, Holly Miller and her husband John, Ewing, MO; Merry Lung and her husband Mike, Quincy; Brett Bryson and wife Susie, Quincy; 13 great grandchildren, Jeff Lung and Jayme Sharp, both of Quincy; Sara Jerles , Ewing, MO; Leslie Lung, Springfield, IL; Lori Sharp and Nick Tappe, both of Quincy; Katelyn Jerles, Ewing, MO; Megan Sharp, Quincy; Rebecca Miller, St. Louis, MO; Luke Tappe, Emily Lung, Chevie and Logan Bryson, all of Quincy.
She also was preceded in death by 2 brothers Howard Royal Scott and Harrell Scott.
Funeral Services will be 10am Wednesday, March 8, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Jerry Harris officiating. Burial in Payson New Cemetery, Payson, Illinois .
The family will receive friends from 4pm - 8pm Tuesday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
