Doris Lee Lunt, age 88 of 4006 Pine Ridge Dr., Quincy, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 6:25 a.m. in Sunset Home.

She was born February 6, 1922 in Adams County, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Delores Kleinschmidt Starman. On April 25, 1943 she married William Otis Lunt in Long Beach, California. He preceded her in death January 15, 1991.

Doris Lee was a graduate of Bowen High School, Bowen, Illinois, and went on to attend Western Illinois Teacher's College in Macomb. She was baptized in St. John's Lutheran Church, Quincy on June 17, 1922, and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bowen, on April 21, 1935. After moving to Quincy in 1993, Doris Lee became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

After World War II, Doris Lee and Otis moved to Quincy before moving to Bowen to share their life together. She was a busy mother and housewife who also enjoyed spending time working on their farm near Bowen. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, actively supporting them in their varied activities including sports and music.

Survivors include: two sons, Terry W. Lunt and his wife Barbara of Ft. Wayne, IN and Jerry R. Lunt and his wife Becky of Quincy; three grandsons, Jason W. Lunt and his wife JoAnne of Roswell, GA, Adam C. Lunt of Atlanta, GA and Jared R. Lunt of Manhattan, KS; a granddaughter, Jamie R. Lunt of Normal, IL, and her fiancé Drew Schlumpf of Champaign, IL; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Byers of Kahoka, MO, Wilda Lunt of Rochester, IL, and Shirley Lunt of Keokuk, IA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Harriett Harvey.

Services: Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 1 p.m. in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Martin Eden officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation: Friday, June 18 from 4-7 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
