Nicole D. Ruffcorn, age 28, of 2913 Lemay Ferry Rd., Apt. A, St. Louis, MO died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 4:37 p.m.
She was born June 11, 1982 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Kevin and Tracy Callahan Phillips. On October 18, 2007 she married Steven M. Ruffcorn in Quincy. He survives.
Nicole was a 2000 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. She received her medical assistant certificate at Vatterott College and began her career as a CNA at Good Samaritan Home. She worked at several nursing homes and was very passionate about her work caring for Alzheimer patients. Nicole was an avid reader and would read anything she could get her hands on. She enjoyed music and played the flute. She had a great love for her family and she had a large group of very close friends.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Ruffcorn of Mendon, IL; her father, Kevin Phillips and wife Brenda of Quincy, and her mother, Tracy Phillips of Quincy; two sisters, Rebekah Phillips of Sun Prairie, WI, and Anna Phillips of Quincy; maternal grandmother, Glenda Callahan-Kinner and husband Ron of Chatham, IL; paternal grandparents, Larry and Roxanna Phillips of Quincy; a step sister, Megan Howell and husband Peter and step brothers, Gavin and Logan Weed, all of Quincy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lloyd Callahan.
Services: 10:00 am - Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Church of St. Peter with Rev. Roy Bauer officiating. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville, IL.
Visitation: 9-10 Monday, August 30 at the Church of St. Peter
