Karen J. Goodwin, age 69, of 1537 Wilkes Avenue, Quincy, IL, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 8:03 am in Blessing Hospital.
She was born November 16, 1940 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Miller and Wilma Smith Steve. On July 21, 1974 Karen married Steve Goodwin in Quincy, IL. He survives.
She was employed by Motorola, Katz, Harris Corporation, and County Market. She attended The Crossing. Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, embroidery, and Tole painting. She loved to be around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors also include her father and 7 children, Mark Goodwin and wife Susan of Quincy, David Trenter and wife Barb of Liberty, IL, Tonya Mayfield of Quincy, Janice Newton and her husband Robert of St. Louis, MO, Tammy Howerton and her husband Michael, Ricky Evans and his wife Shelly and Mark Evans and his wife Dawn, all of Quincy; 18 grandchildren, Todd and Matt Pettit, Jami Polley, Andrea Goodwin, Nathan and Nicholas Trenter, Robbie and Tara Newton, Taylor and Cole Howerton, Tyler and Jake Peters, Audreana, Ashley, Richie, Riley, Abbey, and Alec Evans; 8 great grandchildren, Conner and Gwenyth Polley, Talon Goodwin, Charline, David, and Ayla Trenter, Cayson and Brecklyn Peters, and a great granddaughter due in December; a sister, Bonnie Nichols of Quincy and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and a granddaughter, Gwendolyn Goodwin.
Services: 11:00 am - Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Ehresman officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park
Visitation: 4-7 pm Tuesday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
