"Don was always very nice to us when we came to town, and helped make us feel welcome. And he also played Blue-Grass. Living in Arizona, we never got back that much to visit. We will miss him ever-so much! But as you know, he is in a much better place today, and forever. Bless all of you, Love Tony-CJ"

"My prayers are with my cousins and their families. My Uncle and Aunt were great people and they were there in my time of need. We will surely miss them both, but I feel sure that Uncle Don is playing his bluegrass music with the angels. What can be better than that? Loved them both."

"Paige, Cheryl, Doug & Denise,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your father and grandfather.
Although I only met him a couple of times, I have no doubt he was a very good man.
There are few (if any) harder professions than being a lifetime farmer.
The parental leadership he set for your family by being married to your mother and grandmother for 70+ years is an example to us all.
You and the rest of your family are his legacy.
And in my personal experience of knowing you for four decades, his legacy is in great hands.
Your family was always there for my family.
It didn't matter if it was Little League Baseball or Quincy High Basketball Games, you were there.
And even though we are seperated by 250+ miles, Dougie and I email each other almost daily.
Lifetime friends are hard to find and our families share that.
Please know we are with you in your time of sorrow.
Todd"
