Herbert A. Waters, age 94, formerly of 1715 State St., Quincy, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 705 South 13th in Quincy.
He was born February 12, 1917 in Fulton County, IL the son of Archie and Alma Mayfield Waters. On September 26, 1943, he married Thelma A. Whitney in Richfield United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2011.
Mr. Waters was a graduate of Payson High School. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had worked in the Time Keeping Dept. of Gardner Denver Co. for 36 1/2 years.
Survivors include 2 sons Garry (Carole) Waters and Terry (Debbie) Waters both of Quincy, a daughter, Janet (Elvis) Proctor of Clarksville, TN, 6 grandchildren Steven Waters of Houston, TX, Scott (Vicky) Waters of Sacramento, CA, Cory (Becky) Rees and Rachelle (Ray) Calderon both of Clarksville, TN, Aaron (Lacey) Waters and Devin Waters both of Pleasant Hill, IL, 5 step grandchildren Daniel Dhom of Quincy, Joe (Joyce) Rees of St. Louis, MO, Michael (Kerri) Threet, Sr. of Springfield, MO, Amber (Benny) Lefringhouse and David Koch both of Liberty, IL, 9 great grandchildren, Jagger and Joaquin Waters of Sacramento, CA, Ryan Rees and Alicia Calderon of Clarksville, TN, Talon Waters of Pleasant Hill, IL, Taylor and Michael Threet, Jr. of Springfield, MO, Avery Renee Lefringhouse of Liberty, Leslie Dhom of Quincy and Lila Rees of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers Lee, Kendall, Gerald, Carl and Forrest and a sister Genevieve Pierce..
Services: Saturday (Feb4, 2012) at 3 pm in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev Frank Whitney officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation: Friday 4 - 7 pm at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
Memorials: Calvary Baptist Church.
