Wanda Zelle

Wanda Lee Zelle, age 84, formerly of 3131 College Ave., died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 4:16 pm in Sycamore Healthcare Centre.

Wanda was born April 18, 1927 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Pansy Meyer She married Richard L. Zelle on September 5, 1947 in St. John Lutheran Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1997.

Wanda was a 1947 graduate of Quincy High School. She worked for Moorman Mfg. and Gardner-Denver Corp. She retired in 1992 after 24 years in the receiving department of State Street Store and Klines. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of St. John.

Survivors include: two sons, Richard Mark (Pat) Zelle of Natchitoches, LA; and Bradley Kent (Carol) Zelle of Quincy; four grandchildren: Mark Zelle of St. Louis, MO; Dustin Zelle of Pollock, LA; Anna Zelle of Winchester, KY; and Roger Zelle of Quincy; a brother, Robert (Gwen) Nethery of Arvada, CO; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward Beard; and two sisters: Virginia Bangert and Marilyn Williams.

Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at The Lutheran Church of St. John, with the Rev. Jeremy Latzke officiating.

Burial: Quincy Memorial Park

Visitation: Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
