Eileen Howe, age 88, of 418 Washington St., Quincy died Friday, November 30, 2012, at 1:30 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Eileen was born July 23, 1924 in Leicester, England, the daughter of John Thomas and Kate Jones Batson She married David C. Howe, Sr. on March 28, 1945 in the Parish of St. Andrew, Leicester, England.
Eileen was a member of St. John's Parish, and she loved to play bingo.
Survivors include her son, David Howe of Athens, IL, and her daughter, Kathleen Howser of Quincy, IL; 2 granddaughters, Amerika Kies of Burlington, Iowa, and Kristin M. Howser of Quincy; 3 great grandchildren, Gavin and Griffin Kies of Burlington, Iowa, and Skylor Sohn of Quincy; a sister, Joan Lewandowski of Joliet, IL; a brother, Lol Batson of Leicester, England, and a cousin, Beryl Hufford of Quincy.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael "Howie" Howe; a granddaughter, Kayla M. Howser, and 16 brothers and sisters.
Services: 10:00 am Friday, December 7, 2012 at Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Gary Schluckebier officiating.
Burial: Sunset Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
Visitation: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday December 6, 2012 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
Memorials: Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center or the charity of the donor's choice
