Betty M. Hagerbaumer, age 87, of Quincy died Friday, March 8, 2013, at 7:17 a.m. in her residence.

Betty was born July 17, 1925 in Wayland, MO, the daughter of Charles and Loretta Mitten Pruett. On November 21, 1947 she married George H. Hagerbaumer in Quincy. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2005.

She was employed by St. Mary's hospital in the OB department as a Nurse's Aide for 18 years until her retirement. She attended Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was active in the Franklin School PTA and her children and grandchildren's functions at various schools. She took part in the Minstrel Shows at Franklin School in the late 1950's. She loved to bowl on teams with her friends, as well as, puzzle books, reading, embroidering, crocheting, and celebrating life with her family and friends. She was also proud of her garden and fed the birds and squirrels. Her greatest joy was going to the different ballgames and dance recitals of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: 5 children, Marilyn Bentley, Nancy (Jack) Tucker, Terry (Vicki) Hagerbaumer of Quincy, Mark (Linda) Hagerbaumer Sr. of Bloomington, IL, and Janice (Donald) Rumsey of Theodore, AL, 13 grandchildren, Gene (Theresa) Huddleston, Randy Huddleston, Richard Huddleston all of Quincy, IL, Jeff (Susie) Tucker of Monroe City, MO, Tracy (fiancé Chad Uplinger) Tucker of Quincy, Chris (James) Creasy of Payson, IL, Dale (Loralynn) Holt, Mark (Michelle) Hagerbaumer Jr., Brandon (Jennifer) Hagerbaumer, Amanda(fiance' Jesse Rankin) Hagerbaumer all of Quincy, IL, Jennifer Rumsey, Linette (Justin) Hoppe both of Theodore, AL, Dawnall (Lee Haston) Campos of Quincy, 30 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a sister, Lavina Nelson of Vernon Hills, IL, a brother-in-law, Chester "Skip" Hagerbaumer of Black Canyon City, AZ, a sister-in-law, Marilyn Pruett of Quincy, a niece and a nephew who were raised with the family; Robin (Rod) McClean of Quincy, and Brad (Lois) Pruett both of Quincy, IL, and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mildred Pruett, 2 brothers, Earl and Junior Pruett, a grandson, David Holt, and a niece, Penny Kamphaus.

Services: 10:00 am Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating. With burial Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, IL

Visitation: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 4-7 p.m. in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Memorials: To the family for medical expenses or Great River Honor Flight.
