George Geisendorfer, Geisendorfer,
April 6, 2013

George Geisendorfer, Jr., 61, of Quincy, IL, passed Saturday (April 6, 2013) at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. George was born July 11, 1951, in Quincy, IL, a son of George Geisendorfer, Sr. and Amanda "Betty" Geisendorfer and devoted husband of Connie Geisendorfer.

George attended St. Mary's Parochial Grade School, Christian Brothers High School, and was a graduate of Quincy College. He was an active member of the community, having volunteered with the Quincy Breakfast Kiwanis Club, Ft. Madison Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, and as a youth baseball coach for a couple years.

George's first job at the age of 16 was held with the Quincy Home Service Store. In his early twenties, he joined Pizza King, which later became Cassano's. After a brief period residing in Ft. Madison, where he was co-owner of Cassano's, George returned to Quincy and in 1979 founded Bix Basement Water Control serving the Quincy, Hannibal, and surrounding areas for over 30 years. George, due to illness, had recently retired from daily operations of the business which will continue to operate under the ownership of his stepson and partner, Kristopher Little.

He had a wide variety of interests and hobbies, and enjoyed the outdoors regularly camping and boating at Mark Twain Lake with family and friends. Other avid interests included the Quincy Braumeister's Club, golfing, NASCAR, and crafting of pottery.

George is much loved and will be sorely missed by his mother, wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws and many friends. George is survived by his mother Amanda "Betty" Geisendorfer of Quincy; wife Connie Geisendorfer of Quincy; brother Eric Geisendorfer of Quincy; brother and sister-in-law Patrick and Nancy Geisendorfer of Algona, IA; sister and brother-in-law Ann and Jim Ostermiller of Quincy; brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Tina Geisendorfer of Columbia, IL; sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Mike Harland; son Elias Geisendorfer of Baltimore, MD; son and daughter-in-law Abram and Yasuko Geisendorfer, stepson and daughter-in-law Kristopher and Diane Little of Quincy; and stepdaughter and son-in-law Erin and CC Guymon of Warsaw, IL. A private celebration of his life will be held with interment to be held on a future date at Woodland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org). An online memorial web site (www.georgegeisendorfer.info) has been established where friends and family may seek more information, leave remembrances, view photos, and make charitable donations.

"To th Family of George Geisendorfer Jr., This is a very sad time for those who knew and loved George. When we lose a loved one to death, it leaves a void in our lives. We mourn the loss of our loved one because our hearts and minds tell us death is not right. Death is of course God?s enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) Therefore, God in his infinite wisdom has made arrangements through his Son Christ Jesus to restore paradise and resurrect our loved ones. May this Bible knowledge comfort you as it gives hope for a future when death will be no more. (John 5:28, 29; Revelation 21:3, 4; Matthew 5:5). My deepest condolences."

Your strength and your love is what you got through and it will continue to do so. You will make it, Connie, because George would not have it any other way. May you find peace in knowing that what you two shared was and is God-given. Our prayers are with you, Kris, and your family."
