Anna F. Rowe

Anna F. Rowe, age 88, of  Hannibal, Missouri died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 7:15 p.m. in Beth Haven Nursing Home, Hannibal.

Anna was born June 15, 1924 in Brashear, Missouri, the daughter of John William and Margaret Ruth Ratliff Gardner.  She married Lawrence Rowe  on December 26, 1944 in Brashear, MO.   He survives.

She received her Bachelor Degree as well as her Masters' Degree in Elementary Education from Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College.  Anna was employed  as a teacher in Brashear, Missouri; Keokuk, Iowa, and at Highland Riverside in Quincy, Illinois.  She retired in 1982.

Anna was a member of Arch United Methodist Church in Hannibal, Missouri and a former member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church in Quincy.  She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, North East Missouri State University Alumni Association, and Blessing Hospital Women's Board.  She was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma and RSVP.  She was a volunteer at the Blessing Hospital Tea Room and John Wood Community College.

Survivors include: husband, Lawrence  Rowe of Hannibal, MO; her daughters, Janet (Duane) Brammer of Hannibal, MO,  and Jane (Ron) Blickhan of Springfield, IL; 4 grandchildren, Brian Brammer of Parrish, FL, Julie (Steve) Nash of Springfield, IL, and John Blickhan and Jacob Blickhan, both of Springfield, IL; 4 great-granddaughters, Ashley and Brittany Brammer, and Shannon and Melissa Nash; a brother, Paul  (Louise) Gardner of Jefferson City, MO, nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Meg Brammer; 3  brothers, John, Carl and Merle Gardner, and a sister, Juanita Rehm.

Services: 11:00 am Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. David Scott officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery

Visitation: 9:30 am - 11:00 am, Saturday June 15, 2013 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
