Alfred "Pruny" Dedert

Alfred 'Pruny' Dedert, age 85, 2321 Boy Scout Road, Quincy, died Friday, October 5, 2001 at 10:40 AM in his home.

He was born January 2, 1916 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Fred Dedert and Bessie Weisenborn Dedert. On January 6, 1937, he married Dorothy Cornwell in Dorothy's home in Quincy. She survives at North Adams Home in Mendon.

Mr. Dedert was a member of Ellington Presbyterian Church, Member of the Farm Bureau and a past director. He was a member of the First Adams County Fair Board and a member of Prairie Farms Dairy Board. He enjoyed his family, travelling to Germany, Quincy High School Blue Devil Basketball and was an avid bowler.

Survivors in addition to his wife are 2 sons, Kent Dedert and his wife Jane and Dean Dedert and his wife Carolyn, Quincy, 5 grandchildren, Alan Dedert and his wife Denise, Jeanne Drebes and her husband Steve, David Dedert and his wife Joy, Amy Harms and her husband Brian all of Quincy, Beth Fox and her husband Dennis, Tappan, N.Y., 13 grandchildren, Heather Allen and her husband Clint, Mendon, Chad Dedert, Wellsville, MO, Samantha Drebes, Constance Dedert, Molly Dedert, John Drebes, Megan Dedert, Jason Harms, Adam Harms, Shawna Drebes, Dallas Dedert, all of Quincy, William Fox and Abby Fox, Tappan, N.Y., 2 great grandchildren Reid and Victoria Allen, Mendon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.

Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Monday, October 8, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Richard McFarlin officiating. Burial in Ellington Home Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 9 AM to 11 AM Monday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
