Mae Martin, 74, 300 Keene St., Coatsburg, died Sunday, December 30, 2001 at 10:37 am in her home.
She was born March 20, 1927 in Blackberry Township, Kane County, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Emma Fessler Leffers. On June 9, 1973, she married Calvin Martin in Quincy. He survives.
She was a graduate of Camp Point Central High School in 1945. She was a member and past president of both the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. She loved to knit, crochet, and play bingo.
Survivors in addition to her husband are 5 children, Charlotte Tooke and her husband Dave, Quincy; Barbara Epley and her husband Ron, Payson; Jim Henderson, New London, MO; Jerry Leffers and his wife Patty, Quincy; Mary Ann Richmiller, Quincy; 12 grandchildren, Theresa Hultz, Philadelphia, MO; Barbara Norrod, Elizabeth, CO; Larry Kabrick, Rogers, AR; Doug Eddingfield, Hull, IL; Jamie Henderson, Hannibal, MO; Andrea Henderson, Hannibal, MO; Austin Henderson, New London, MO; Michelle Attebery, Quincy; Kim Leffers, Quincy; Deana Leffers, Phoenix, AZ; Heather Richmiller, Coatsburg, IL; Nicole Tournear, Camp Point, IL; 23 great grandchildren; 2 step daughters, Carolyn Lewis and her husband Andrew, Quincy; Marilyn Lear, Quincy; one brother, Frank Leffers and his wife Bonnie, Quincy, and 7 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son David Dennis Hall, one brother George Leffers, and one grandson David Jackson Kabrick.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, January 3, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. George Tomko officiating. Burial in Graymount Cemetery, Coatsburg, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Eagle services will be held at 6 pm, Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Ronald McDonald House.
