Madeline R. Taylor, 78, 601 Eagle Trace, Quincy and Rome, GA, died Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at Blessing Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1923 in Redford, Michigan, the daughter of Blake and Lily Small. On January 30, 1942, she married Maurice M. Taylor, Sr. in Napoleon, Ohio. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1998.
Mrs. Taylor attended Redford High School and was in business with her husband for many years. She was very active in the Michigan American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Michigan Republican Party and a member of the Adams County Women's Republican Club. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Quincy, IL.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons, Maurice Taylor, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Quincy and Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, and Fred Taylor and his wife Mary, Rome, GA, a daughter, Cheri Holley and her husband Jerry of Quincy; 14 grandchildren, Anthony Taylor and Maureen Sredl of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Catharine Taylor of Chicago, Jerry Holley, Jr., Christopher Holley, Renee Astfalk, Marie Taylor, Brent Taylor, Jr. and Lily Taylor of Quincy, Chad, Eric, Andy, Kelly and Elisa Taylor, Rome, GA; and 4 great grandchildren, Jessica Holley and Danielle Holley of Quincy and Megan and Michael Sredl of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. She is also survived by a sister, Nora Webb, Boca Raton, FL, and 1 brother, Gordon B. Small of Manchester, New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her husband and her youngest son Brent L. Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 pm Friday, March 1, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. A funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, March 2, at the First Presbyterian Church.
