Homer Job, age 78, 418 Poinsettia, Quincy, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 2:45 pm at the Illinois Veterans Home.

He was born March 22, 1924, in Clear Springs, Mo., the son of Samuel and May Ridings Job. He married Iris Allred Curless in Clarence, Mo. She survives. On November 22, 1975, he married Joyce Shoemake Gutierrez in Quincy, IL. She survives.

Mr. Job was a graduate of Clarence, MO. High School and attended Gem City College. He served in World War II and was discharged November 11, 1945 as an aviation Radioman 3rd Class. From February 12, 1943 to November 11, 1945 he was in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. Mr. Job was a carpenter and worked as a licensed electrician in Construction with Melvin 'Deb' Richmiller Construction CO. He was a member of the Crossing Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife are 6 daughters, Susan Reilmann and her husband Jerry, Lebanon, IL; Gaile Maxwell and her husband Richard, Collinsville, IL; Connie Barnes and her husband Timothy, Quincy; Barbara Schuldt and her husband Terry, Buckley, IL; Jennifer Dizes and her husband Robert, O'Fallon, IL; Carlotta Moore and her husband Barry, Dallas, TX; 2 sons, Edward Job and his wife Tammy, Webster Groves, MO; and Gabriel Job and his wife Susan, Quincy, MASS; 22 grandchildren, Amy Kaska and her fiancee David Lax, Belleville, IL., Clinton Reilmann, Decatur, Il., Philip Reilmann, St. Louis, Ellen Reilmann, Lebanon, IL., Kim Massa and her husband Eric, Powell, Ohio, David Maxwell, Collinsville, IL., Eric Barnes and his wife Teresa, Quincy, Aaron Barnes and his fiancee Meriah Jade, Quincy, Kristi Barnes and her fiancee Brennan Willing, Quincy, Kevin Barnes, Quincy, Amber Tofari and her husband Adam, Buckley, IL, Rusty Schuldt, Cartervillle, Il., Amanda Gramprie and her husband Nicholas, Colorado Springs, CO., Dominic Job, Danielle, Amber and Jennifer Dizes, all of O'Fallon, IL, Carson and Sydney Moore, Dallas, TX, and Truman , Caroline and Margaret Job, Webster Groves, MO., 12 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Ruby Wagner and her husband Bill, St. Louis; Eunice Hahn, St. Louis; and Lois Cline and her husband Allen, Clayton, IL.

He was preceded in death by a grandson Daniel Maxwell and 3 brothers Oscar, Dexter and Robert Job.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Jerry Harris officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
