Everett Hardy, 95, 1401 No. 12th, Quincy, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 3:25 am in his home.
He was born April 25, 1907 in Loraine, Illinois, the son of James and Anna Clark Hardy. On March 22, 1930 he married Hazel Todd in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1995.
Mr. Hardy was a graduate of Mendon High School. He was service manager at McFarland-Frances Chevrolet, and then was a self employed mechanic at 12th and Sycamore until his retirement. Mr. Hardy was a member of the Twin Oaks Club, the Hunters and Fishermans Club, and was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include 3 sons, Gerald L. Hardy and his wife Carol, Ursa, Illinois; Richard L. Hardy and his wife Judy, Quincy; Max D. Hardy and his wife Rosemary, Quincy, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 8 step great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He also was preceded in death by his sister Ruby Hardy and his brother Carl in infancy.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Roger Selves officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday from 4 until 7 pm. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
