Ruth Anna Stanley, Edgewater Retirement Community, Galveston, Texas died June 2, 2003 at 5:45 am in the Turner Terrace Facility. She previously resided at 2012 29th St. in Galveston.
She was born October 3, 1910 in Gilmer Township, IL, daughter of Albert Longlett and Henrietta Luetkenhoelder.
On May 7, 1943, she married Paul Stanley of Galveston, TX. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2003.
She was a school teacher in the Quincy, IL area for three years prior to her marriage. After moving to Texas she worked for the National Hotel Company in the auditing department and retired from there March 1, 1963. Mrs. Stanley was a loving wife and with her husband frequently visited the elderly in Galveston nursing homes.
Survivors include a sister Alberta Spangler of the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy; two nieces, Carolyn Baughman of Palatine, IL. and Jolene Skoglund of Moline, IL. and a nephew, Neil Spangler of Zion, IL. She was preceded in death by her adopted brother Fredrick Kleemeyer and sister Laura Mae Worley.
Funeral graveside services for family and friends will be held in Quincy, IL at Quincy Memorial Park at 3 pm on Thursday June 5, 2003 with Pastor Ronald Graham officiating. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Hansen Spear Funeral Home.
