Mary Lucille Smith, 78, of 1723 W. Granview, Quincy, died Friday, July 4, 2003 at 8:30 am in St. Vincent's Home.
She was born September 1, 1924 in Moberly, Missouri, the daughter of Harvey and Nannie Gola Hudson. On December 29, 1941, she married Charles Elmer Smith in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1986.
She had worked at St. Mary Hospital and retired after 34 years of service. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, Sacred Heart League and was a volunteer at Ladies of Charity.
Survivors include 3 sisters, Lola Hiland, Peoria; Wanda Allensworth, Quincy; Thelma Fay Hudson, Springfield; a brother, Richard Hudson, Bethalto, IL; nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by 2 brothers Johnnie and Raymond and 2 sisters Norean and Edna.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 7, 2003 at 10:00 am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home, Rev. Donald Knuffman officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
