Donald D. 'Donnie' Rhea, age 52, of 308 County Rd. 307, Taylor, MO died Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at 6:16 am in Blessing Hospital.
He was born May 22, 1951 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Donald Dale and Marcie Ballow Rhea, Sr. On October 29, 1999, he married Shellie Banning in Quincy. She survives.
He was a 1969 graduate of Palmyra High School. Donald was employed 18 years at Speedrack and for 6 years at Trinity Industries. Currently, he owned and operated B.S.R. Clean Air Filter Company with his wife Shellie. He was an avid trap shooter and boater, and he was loved by everyone who knew him.
Survivors in addition to his wife are his parents; a stepdaughter, Summer Lynn Wiewel, Taylor, MO; a stepson, Levi Oliver Wiewel, Taylor, MO; 3 daughters, Melissa Rhea, Quincy; Donnette Rhea, Ursa, IL; Megan Rhea, LaGrange, MO; 4 grandsons; 4 sisters, Linda Collins and her husband Terry, Brookfield, MO; Pam Morris and her hsuband Greg, Quincy; Debbie Hamm, Hannibal; Kelly Ragar and her husband Gary, Taylor, MO; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. James Wheeler, O.F.M. officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Thursday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
