Christopher Michael Engel, age 38, of 1903 Ohio, Quincy, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Bushnell, Illinois.

Christopher was born July 17, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama, the son of Michael and Marchetta Lindsey Engel.

Christopher was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. Christopher was a sports enthusiast, and he was a die hard fan of both the Chicago Cubs and the Denver Broncos. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing softball and volleyball. Most of all, Christopher will be remembered as a loving and patient father and uncle.

Survivors include: his son, Braeden Poffenberger of Macomb, IL; his parents; two sisters: Schyler (Alex) Hintz and Brittany (Joseph Rosenburg) Engel, both of Quincy, IL; his nephew and niece, Donavan Bergman and Emma Rosenburg, both of Quincy; his maternal grandparents, Earl and Nell Lindsey of Industry, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins

Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray and Erma Engel.

Memorial Service:  11:00 am Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Lefever officiating

Visitation: 9:00 am - 11:00 am Thursday at Hansen-Spear
