Hildegarde Caroline Julie Hendrian, 92, 2130 Harrison, Quincy, died Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10:10 a at the Good Samaritan Home.
She was born November 14, 1911 in Quincy the daughter of Albert and Rose Ott Cordsiemon. On October 10, 1931, she married Hugo Christian Hendrian in Quincy. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1998.
She was know all her life as "Toots or "Tootie". Before her marriage she worked for the Quincy Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She loved animals and always kept pets, numerous cats, dogs, birds and assorted small animals. She also loved reading and working in her garden and raising house plants. As a young woman, she enjoyed dancing and camping, and was active in all facets of her children's lives. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the PTA at Dewey Elementary School and Quincy Senior High School. She was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include 3 children, Ronald C. Hendrian and his wife Joyce, Quincy, Donald A. Hendrian and his wife Barbara, Quincy , Bonnie J. King and her husband Charles, Davenport , IA, 9 grandchildren, Donald Hendrian, Jr., and his fiancee Karen Jensen, Daniel Hendrian, Vicki Swaim and her husband Kenneth, Sherrie Kemp and her husband Robert, Dana Block and her husband Jeff, Robert King, and his wife Cindy, Chris King, Paul Hendrian, and Matt Hendrian, 15 great grandchildren, Brian, Amy and Adam Hendrian, James, Thomas, Paul and Victoria Swaim, Dallas and Matt Kemp, Terry, Hannah and R. William King, Destiny Houghton, Donald Echternkamp and Lacey Block. She also was preceded in death by husband, parents, one brother, two sisters and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11 AM in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. E. W Blumenkamp officiating. Entombment will be in Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church, Good Samaritan Home or Quincy Humane Society.
