Bruce R. Carver

Bruce R. Carver, age 83, of 301 N. 8th, Apt. 5A, Quincy, died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 2:38 pm in his home.

He was born July 28, 1920 in Clinton, Illinois, the son of Raymond W. and Gertrude Baggs Carver. He married Bessie Rakowski in 1949. She preceded him in death. On August 25, 1965, he married Bernice M. Seals in Parkview Church in Quincy. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2000.

Mr. Carver was employed in the research department at Moorman's for 31 Years. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, the Eagles Club, Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge.

Survivors include 2 sons, Richard J. 'Jim' Carver and his wife Kathy, Quincy; Raymond E. Carver, Jacksonville, IL; 2 stepsons, Ronald L. Seals and his wife Linda, Hannibal, MO; Gary L. Seals and his wife Sandra, Quincy; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara Day, Albuquerque, NM and Shirley Patterson, Harrisburg, PA. He also was preceded in death by 1 brother, Bert W. Carver, and one sister, Berneta Ray Harmler; two step-grandchildren Kerry and Cory Seals.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Tom Rains officiating. Burial will in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church.
