Lynn Henry Biswell, age 63, of West Point, IL died Saturday, February 28, 2004 a 10:00 am Blessing Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1940 in Elmer, Missouri, the son of George Alex and Hazel Irene Demery Biswell. He married Marlene Gooding in 1962. He later married Dorothy Hobbs in 1970. Both survive.
He served in the US Army from September 1961-1964. He served in the Illinois National Guard in Quincy and retired as a Sargent November 19, 1999 after 18 years if service. He worked for Larry Tanner before his lengthy illness. He was one of the original trash haulers in Quincy. He enjoyed fishing, camping and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Stillwell Methodist Church, and the Bowen American Legion Post.
Survivors include 4 children, Larry Biswell, Golconda, IL; Tony Biswell, Bowen, IL; Daryl Biswell, Stillwell, IL; Carole Biswell, Stillwell, IL; 11 grandchildren; 1 brother, Cecil Biswell, Philmath, OR; 2 sisters, Cleona Faye Moore, Loraine, IL; Evelyn Smith, Morrilton, AR; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Wendy Biswell, a brother, Harold; a sister, Melba Davis; a nephew, Paul Wear; and one great-nephew, Thomas Friday.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Oliver Taube officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to the American Heart Association.
