Frances Hooper

Frances Hooper, age 81, of Camp Point, formerly of 910 Joshua St., died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 4:30 pm in the Timber Point Health Care Center.

She was born March 1, 1923 in Lima, IL the daughter of Carson R. and Lillian Hufendick Bolt. On June 16, 1946, she married Richard E. "Dick" Hooper in Quincy. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2002.

Frances graduated from Q.H.S. in 1941. She was an insurance agent at Timpe Insurance. Then, she worked for the next 20 years as a secretary and a bookkeeper for Consumer Sales Distributors. In later years, she was employed as an office assistant through the ASCS office. She also worked as an office assistant at the Alzheimer's Association. In addition, she later worked as an assistant in the tea room at the Illinois Veteran's Home. Frances was a member of Faith Christian Church. She and her husband loved to travel. Their summers were spent following their grandson's and great-grandsons' softball games. She also enjoyed bowling, and she was a great story teller. Her greatest joy was her family and all of their activities.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Kendrick, Quincy; son, Randy Hooper, Quincy; 4 grandchildren, Eric Steinkamp and finace Tonya Burrus; Angela Woosley and her husband Butch ; Summer Thomas and her husband Steve; Ashley Hooper, all of Quincy; 9 great grandchildren, Kelsey, Alex, Nicholas, and Marcus Steinkamp; Alexis and Blake Woosley; Stevie and Blaine Thomas, and Matthew Burrus all of Quincy; and a brother, Roger Bolt and his wife Pearl, of Quincy. She also was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Krista Steinkamp.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 1 pm at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Henry Pratt officiating. Visitation will be held Friday 4 to 6 pm at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Samantha Otte Fund, Faith Christian Church, or Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Missouri. The family invites friends to a luncheon at Faith Christian Church following the services.
