Mona Cantrell, age 78, of Seguin, Texas and formerly of Paloma, IL died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 4:35 pm in Seguin, Texas.
She was born April 22, 1926 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of William and Isabel Dearwester Cochran. She married Reece Cantrell September 15, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1986.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Kathy Spacek and her husband Mark, Centennial, CO; Karen Montez and her husband Vincent, Seguin, Texas; 8 grandchildren, David, Matthew and Sara Spacek, Centennial, CO; Jeff, Scott, Zachary, Corrina and Victoria Montez, Seguin, Texas; a great grandson, David Reece Ward; her father, William Cochran; 4 sisters, Joyce Wininger, Mary Van Dyke, Linda Van Dyke, Judy Green; a brother, Don Cochran; her best friend, Betty Webster, and numerous other family members.
She also was preceded in death by her mother, Isabel Cochran, an infant daughter, a brother, Glen Cochran, and her maternal grandparents, Cora and William Dearwester, who raised her, and their children, Mabel, Goldie, Gladys, Mildred, Jim, Sadie, Dorothy and Monte.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Pastor Scott Swigart officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
