Alice 'Lucille' Bumpass

Alice "Lucille" Bumpass, age 101, 418 Washington, Quincy, (formerly of 527 Broadway)died Tuesday morning, January 11, 2005 at 10:15 am in Sunset Home. She had been a resident of Sunset Home for over 5 years.

She was born November 8, 1903 in Wayne County, Illinois, the daughter of Everett and Stella Algire Molt. She married Clay Bumpass in Dixon, MO. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1970.

Mrs. Bumpass was a long time resident of Fairfield, IL. In Quincy she was a housemother for Woodland Home for many years. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. Her love for children and her family were a major part of her life.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Bea Schwartz, Quincy; Virginia Cornwell and her husband Howard, Canyon Country, CA; Olive Short and her husband John, Liberty, IL; Krethy Krogman and her husband Allan, Quincy; 1 son, Dean Bumpass and his wife Teresa, Fairfield, IL; 14 grandchildren, Dana Schrader and her husband Bob, Quincy; David Christy and his wife Diane, Fairfield; Caryl Sibbing and her husband Mick, Quincy; Sandra Stupavsky, Quincy; Connie Fernandez and her husband Luis, Woodland Hills, CA; Fred Cornwell and his wife Mary, Newport Beach, CA; Liz Ann Woodrow and her husband Ron, Barnhill, IL; Tonya Auvil and her husband Mike, Huntingburg, IN; Carla Nolan and her husband Junior, Huntingburg, IN; Sherry Jones, Fairfield, IL; Jenny McDaniel and her husband John, Mt. Vernon, IL; Mark Krogman and his wife Julie, Quincy; Monte Krogman and his wife Laurie, O'Fallon, MO; Robin Meier and her husband Mark, Camp Point, IL; 29 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Louise Eckleberry, a son Clyde Bumpass, a grandson James "Scott" Christy, 2 sisters Lois and Laura and 2 brothers Loren and Leo Molt.

Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11 am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Rains officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 am. Memorials may be given to Sunset Home or First Southern Baptist Church.
