Robert Allen Bush

Robert Allen Bush, age 66 of 4301 King St., Quincy, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 at 3:20 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.

He was born August 31, 1938 in Pekin, Illinois the son of Kenneth Charles and Georgia Ann Freeman Bush. June 19, 1965 he married Sandra Lea Schumacher in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.

Mr. Bush was a 1957 graduate of Pekin High School and a 1962 graduate of Western Illinois University. He received his Masters degree in Physical Education in 1968 from North East Missouri State University. He was a member of Q.E.A., I.E.A., and N.E.A., the Western Illinois Fly Tyers Association and Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ where he was a former member of the Board of Trustees. He served the Quincy Board of Education for 34 years where he was a biology teacher and coached freshman and sophomore football. He was an avid hunter of duck, pheasant and quail and a fly fisherman.

Survivors include 2 sons Jason Bush and his wife Bridget of Camdenton, MO, Eric Bush and his wife Susan of Minnetonka, MN, a stepson, Jeff Armstrong and his wife Janet of Quincy, 4 grandchildren Bryce Bush of Camdenton, MO, Jackson Bush of Minnetonka, MN, Jessalyn Armstrong of Hannibal, MO and Jeffrey Armstrong of Quincy, twin brothers Isaac Bush and his wife Carol of Manito, IL, and Michael Bush and his wife Joyce of Pekin, a stepsister, Melva Smith of Pekin, his father and mother-in-law Walter and Fern Nagel of Quincy; 4 sisters-in- law Pamela Wells and her husband Dennis "D.K."of Augusta, IL, Jill Nason and her husband William of Sutter, IL, Dana Ourth and her husband John of Carthage and Donna Bush of New Jersey and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Mae Bush and a brother Kenneth W. Bush.

Services will be Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Schuette officiating. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery in Ursa. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Salem Church or the Quincy High School Football Association.
