Pearl Happ, age 91 of 2130 Harrison, Cottage 25A, Quincy, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.
She was born December 2, 1913 in Burlington, Iowa the daughter of Louis and Azelda DuForte Head. October 28, 1938 she married Emil T. Happ in Burlington, IA, He preceded her in death on March 14, 1995.
Mrs. Happ had served as a den mother for her son's Cub Scout troop. She had owned her own beauty shop for several years. She was an active member of Luther Memorial Church and served on numerous committees, she and her husband were "Table Parents" in the Youth Club. Mrs. Happ was a volunteer at Good Samaritan Home and worked on "The Patter", she had also volunteered at the Blessing Hospital Tea Room. She had served as an election judge. She was an avid bridge player and Blue Devil fan. She never missed any of her children's, grand children's or great grand children's sporting events.
Survivors include 2 sons, Michael L. Happ and his wife Sandy of Columbia, MO, and Thomas P. Happ and his wife Denise M. of Dallas, TX, 6 grandchildren, Michele Kernell and her husband Robert, of Liberty, MO, Eric Happ and his wife Anita of Columbia, MO, Marc Happ of Millersburg, MO, Meghan Ponte and her husband Christopher of Milwaukee, WI, Courtney Wirtjes and her husband Nathan of Rockford, IL, and Ryan Happ of Rockford, IL, 5 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Luke & Drew Kernell, Erin Happ, and Danielle Vaughn. She was preceded in death by a son David Emil Happ, 2 sisters, Jean Mackey and Eva Nelson, and 3 brothers, Jack, Paul and Joe Head.
Services will be Saturday, March 26, 2005, 10:30 am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev Leland Uden officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 4-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Luther Memorial Church or Good Samaritan Home.
