Wilbur R. Breckenkamp

Wilbur R. " Wib" Breckenkamp, age 92 of 1922 Melview, Quincy, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 12:50 pm in Sunset Home.

He was born March 2, 1913 in Adams County, Illinois the son of Henry and Laura Koetter Breckenkamp. On March 2, 1935 he married Margaret Upschulte in Quincy. She preceded him in death on January 24, 1994.

Mr. Breckenkamp was a dairy farmer most of his life and also was a truck gardener. For 10 years he was a fire fighter for the Tri Township Fire Department. He liked to hunt for and collect Indian artifacts.

Survivors include his son, Ross W. Breckenkamp and his wife Mary Lou, Quincy; 2 grandsons Robert W. Breckenkamp and his wife Diane of Quincy; Donald Breckenkamp and his wife Karen of Quincy; 4 great grandchildren, Brian Breckenkamp of LaGrange, MO; Brandon, Ann and Michael Breckenkamp all of Quincy; 2 nieces, LeAnne Schell and her husband Mark of Quincy and Jeanette Elliott and her husband John of Liberty, IL; 2 nephews, Jim Little and his wife Mary Jo, Quincy and Jerry Little and his wife Kay, Liberty, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Harry; a sister Lucille Bell; 3 nephews Ken Bell, Richard Breckenkamp and George Little; a niece Marie Upshulte Schuette.

Graveside services will be Friday, April 8, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in Greenmount Cemetery, Rev. Wanda Seydel officiating. There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the services. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
