Jeana Lauren Worth, age 70, of Quincy, died on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 5:30 a.m. in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born on November 1, 1943, in Dighton, Kansas, the daughter of George and Margaret Artz Pivonka.
Jeana graduated from Scott Community High School, Scott City, Kansas in 1961 and attended Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Webb Walter Worth in Scott City, Kansas in 1964, and they lived in Enid, Oklahoma, Manitou Springs, Colorado, and Divernon and Springfield, Illinois, before settling in Quincy.
Jeana was a loving mother and homemaker. She helped build the home her daughters grew up in, sewed their clothes, and planted and harvested much of the food on their table. She instilled in them a love of music with her joyful and passionate piano playing, illustrated the beauty of literature by reading to them, and taught them about her beloved Lord and Savior by walking in His footsteps.
For many years, Jeana and her family were active members of Calvary Baptist Church where she served Christ and developed several profound, lasting friendships. More recently, she enjoyed inspiration, joy, and a loving family of friends at The Crossing. A devoted mom and doting grandma, she loved traveling to visit her daughters and her grandchildren. She also traveled several times over the years to one of her favorite places, Horn Creek Ranch in Colorado, and to visit family members in Kansas. She enjoyed helping others and taking care of those who needed her time and attention. Though modest, she was in so many ways, a beautiful, kind, strong, and talented woman.
Jeana is survived by three daughters, Susan (Kendall) Alexander of Greeley, CO, Sharon Felten of Litchfield, CT, and Serene (Dave) Zegarelli of Ridgefield, CT; five grandchildren, Aaron and Caitlin Alexander, Collin and Ric Felten, and Luke Zegarelli; a brother, John B. Pivonka; two nieces and a nephew, Donna Hanson, John D. Pivonka, and Bonnie Bonner; and former husband, Webb W. Worth.

Jeannie was one of my best friends during high school She was not only beautiful on the outside but also on the inside. She had remarkable musical talent and I loved listening to her play the piano. When I got married in 1963 she was in our wedding. She will always hold a very special place in my heart"

"In the early 70's I met Jean when we lived in Payson for a few yrs. Our 4 children & her 3 were around the same ages. We shared our faith in Jesus, raising children, & eating healthy; we both had huge gardens. I last saw her when we met in Mt. Sterling for lunch a few yrs. ago. I will miss her but will see her again when the Lord calls me home, too!"
